The Bible App New Revised 2006 is a formidable free aid for reading and studying the biblical text. The app offers accurate reading, navigation and search functions essential for understanding Sacred Text. It allows you to enter personal notes and bookmarks on every verse of the Bible and to consult them in a simple and intuitive way at any time.
The application will allow you to:
- see the notes to the biblical text: over 23,000 notes that indicate the other possible translations, the etymology, the exact translation contained in the many ancient manuscripts of the Bible (if there are any differences), internal references to the biblical text;
- access geographical and historical information contained in the introductions to the books of the Bible;
- study the Bible through the thousands of proposed parallel references;
- highlight pieces of text, add bookmarks and personal annotations with the ability to view and access them quickly from any support you have (tablet, computer or smartphone);
- to search for a word throughout the biblical text, or only in the Old or New Testament;
- access the chronology (a very useful tool in the context of a Bible study or a preaching);
- read the Bible vertically or horizontally, navigating through the chapters;
- read the biblical text in night mode;
- modify the size of the character as you wish.
The version used by the application is the New Revised 2006 with all its critical apparatus. This is a revision of the previous edition of 1994, which is part of the tradition of the text translated by Giovanni Diodati in 1607 in Geneva; at the same time it stands out both for the linguistic updating and for the revision made on the basis of those Greek and Hebrew manuscripts that were not available at the time of the Diodati itself.
